❗️ IMPORTANT: Upcoming January Deprecations

Hey everyone!

With the slew of updates we had in 2023, we are planning to deprecate some of the older functionality early next year: legacy paywalls, A/B tests and remote configs. Even though we've already sent an email about it to some of you, we decided that we can't go wrong with an extra heads-up.

In short: after January 29th, 2024 the "Paywalls (deprecated)", "A/B tests (deprecated)" and "Legacy remote config (deprecated)" of the paywalls will be removed from the Adapty dashboard. If you are still using those sections — please read on for more details on what to expect and how to prepare.

Deprecating Paywalls and A/B tests that have not migrated to Placements

As you may already know, we have introduced the new paywall management system called Paywalls 2.0 this summer. It allows you to be more flexible when configuring your Paywalls and A/B tests and requires even less hardcoding on the app level with the help of Placements.

If you are still using the Paywalls (deprecated) and A/B tests (deprecated) sections of Adapty, then here's what you should know:
- On January 29th, 2024 we will auto-convert any legacy active Paywalls and A/B tests to Placements and activate them. Even though your app will continue to work as expected, this could lead to a lot of old unneeded stuff ending up in your Placements section.
- We kindly ask you to follow this short guide and complete the transfer yourself before that. In most cases, it will only require 10 minutes of your time and zero development. If you decide to archive certain active Paywalls and A/B tests — make sure they are not used anymore.
- We will also remove these sections from the interface, so the data for inactive Paywalls and A/B tests will also become inaccessible. If it's valuable to you — make sure to save this data for future use.

Deprecating legacy remote configs

In January 2023 we introduced new localized remote configs for paywalls — so that you could have smaller, easier-to-manage JSONs for each of the locales you support. The same month we released an updated SDK v2.3.0 that only supports these new configs. So, a full year later, on January 29th, 2024 we will deprecate legacy remote configs like so:
- In every paywall that still has a legacy remote config, it will be removed from the dashboard
- Despite that, this config will still be delivered and used by the apps with the old Adapty SDKs — although no modifications to it will be accepted.

We kindly ask you to transition to the new remote config before that, if you haven't already done so.

We know deprecations are rarely easy, so if you have any questions, please reach out to us.

Best,

Adapty Team

🍁 Fall Updates: Paywall Builder v2.0 and more

Hey everyone!

Our product has seen a lot of updates this fall so we wanted to highlight some of the most exciting ones to you. You know, just to make sure you're in the loop 😉

So today we're proud to tell you about...

Paywall Builder v2.0!

Just to remind you — this tool lets you create beautiful native paywalls right from the dashboard with no coding involved. v2.0 is a huge leap forward compared to the first version in terms of customization: you can now choose from a variety of templates and change the visuals of a paywall down to the color and shape of a specific button.

It's also now available to every one of our clients on every platform and SDK we support — as we would love to see this become a useful tool for everyone. We really hope it will boost your experimentation and bring your apps to new heights.

Check out our September and October product updates to learn more about the Builder, and start using it with the help of our docs. And don't forget to let us know what you think about it, as we're committed to polishing the Paywall Builder even more.

Have a wonderful rest of your fall and stay tuned for future updates!

Best,

Adapty Team

Google Play Billing 5 and 6 support

Hey everyone!

The fall is full of exciting updates, and some of the biggest ones are yet to come 🤩

In this feast of the new features, we somehow forgot to announce here the full support for Google Play Billing 5 and 6, which we did in August. On November 1st, Google stopped processing updates of the app that use older versions of the Billing Library.

Be sure to update to the latest version of Android or cross-platform SDKs, if you're currently using an Adapty SDK version older than 2.6.

We've prepared the docs that make the upgrade process a breeze:

  1. What's new in Adapty SDK 2.6 (2.6 is no longer the latest version, but still read this doc, even if you're updating to 2.8).
  2. How to work with Google Play subscriptions and base plans.
  3. How to work with Google Play offers.

Best,

Adapty Team

Taxes in Integrations and Placements

Hey there!

We're happy to announce that we now support App Store and Google Play taxes in Integrations. This will be useful for those of you who would like to see net proceeds (revenue adjusted for both store commission fee and taxes) in external services, be it those you use for analytics or attribution.

We also added support for net proceeds in Placements: so you can always see exactly how much you're earning across the entire Adapty toolset.

Check out our docs for more info on how we calculate and apply the taxes and stay tuned for more updates!

New chart: LTV

Hey there!

We've released a long-awaited LTV chart. Now you can quickly see how LTV changes over time and find patterns using segmentations.

  1. LTV "by renewals" shows how LTV grows each subscription period.
  2. LTV "by days" shows how LTV grows over calendar periods, for example, LTV within the 3 months after installation.
  3. Group data by countries, products, duration, and store, to find insights.
  4. As always, you can export the data in table format to analyze raw numbers.

Let us know how you track LTV and what else we can add to help you :)

Event feed updates: error tracking and feed limit

Meet two Event feed updates, designed to enhance your data analysis experience and streamline the workflow.

🔍 Error tracking:
Now you can quickly identify in the dashboard if there is any error in the process of transferring data between the Adapty system and external integration. When an error occurs, you will notice red color in the Event Feed. Simply hover over the red event to see the type of error encountered. If an event is not highlighted like an error but has grey color it means that it is disabled and not sent.

🔍 Event display limit:
To optimize the speed and responsiveness of the Event feed, we will implement a limit on the number of events displayed. Moving forward, you will see data from the last two weeks in the Event feed. This change improves the loading speed of the page, allowing you to navigate and analyze your data more efficiently.

We value your feedback! If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to share.

New charts: ARPU, Installs, Non-subscriptions

We're excited to announce the addition of three new charts to Adapty analytics.

🟣 Average Revenue Per User (ARPU): You can gauge the overall revenue effectiveness of your app and identify trends or fluctuations in user spending patterns by observing how much you earn per user installation.

🟣 Installs: The number of installations can describe both your acquisition results and product opportunities, so it is definitely worth keeping an eye on.

🟣 Non-subscriptions: With this chart, you can track the number of purchased products that are not in the category of renewable subscriptions.

Please enjoy new perspectives on your data and let us know about your success.
