πŸŸͺ New in March: Stripe on the Free plan + Remote Config updates

While we dedicated the first month of spring to the preparation of more substantial updates to be released in the following months, a few useful updates still got released in March:

The Stripe integration is available for everyone starting the Free plan. Dive into the docs to learn how you can connect Stripe to Adapty right now.

Remote Config got several UI/UX updates. Working with JSON files got much more pleasant with new syntax updates including the auto-completion of strings and dictionaries, auto-indentation of nested objects, object and array folding, and more.

The "by Day" view in analytics got a 2x limit increase. Due to the popularity of this segmentation method, we decided to double the limit of the days that can be viewed at once from 92 to 184. So now you can view how this or that metric changed from day to day for up to 6 months.

Stay tuned for more and bigger updates to be released this spring!

πŸ“± New in February: Paywall Builder updates and A/B test prediction

The last month of winter brought several handy updates for the Paywall Builder and a long-awaited prediction feature for paywall A/B testing:

Close button delay. Now you can set the delay time for the close button to appear on your paywall. Just enable the “Show after delay” toggle and you’re free to set the delay time and the fade-in duration for the button.

Font styles and customization. Every text field on your paywall can feature the font of your choice, including custom ones. Style the text by making it bold, italic, etc. Set one font and style for the whole paywall or adjust every textual element separately. Find more details in the docs.

Custom tags. Use custom tags to provide a dynamic and personalized paywall experience to your users. Create a variable that can be substituted with a custom text depending on a certain criterion. Learn how to use custom tags here.

Image localization and zoom/crop. Adapt your paywall to other cultures better by uploading (and cropping) different background images for different locales.

Prediction for paywall A/B testing. Rely on AI to make the right choice when A/B testing your paywalls. The predicted P2BB (Probability-to-be-the-best) helps in quicker and more reliable decision-making than relying solely on real-time metrics. Learn more about how it works.

The springtime is also expected to be generous with updates, so stay tuned!

❄️Winter holiday updates: Stripe, faster analytics, and much more!

We’re back from the holidays with some new and exciting winter updates! Here's a recap of what we worked on for the last couple of months:

Analytics load speed improved. Most Adapty charts now load up to 5x faster! With the reworked calculation logic under the hood, our request duration has dropped to under 1 second. The Cohorts, Funnels, and Conversions charts are next in line to be sped up, so stay tuned!

Stripe support has been added. Grant automatic access to paid features for users who bought on the web and later logged in to the app or consolidate subscription analytics in the Adapty dashboard, including cohorts, predictions, and other analytics tools. Learn more in the docs.

New dashboard – Overview.  We’ve added a new analytics dashboard that shows several metric charts for all of your apps on one screen. Customize it to display only the metrics you find relevant. Optimized for the mobile view!

Slack integration added. Receive subscription event notifications right into your Slack channel in one feed. It’s a great way to keep the finger on the pulse of what’s going on with your app revenue.

Access level sharing reworked. Now in Adapty, you can disable sharing purchases between user accounts if you’d like to restrict access only to one ID and prevent the cases where two or more people may use the same purchases on one device. Find out more in our documentation.

Stay tuned for more awesome updates in 2024!

πŸŽ„πŸ“± Introducing Mobile-Friendly Layout!

Hey everyone!

We all value the time away from our laptops and computers, especially during the holiday season. But keeping track of the metrics is also important, and that's why we're thrilled to announce that our website now supports mobile layout, making it easier than ever to access our powerful analytics tools on the go!

If you're reading this post on the desktop, give it a try on the mobile. If you're on the mobile: congrats, things should finally be better now! As always, we're eager to get some feedback from you — so if anything feels off, feel free to reach out to us in chat or over email.

This is a feature that has been requested countless times and we are glad we could deliver on this before the end of 2023.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a successful year ahead, from all of us at Adapty! 🎁 🎄 🎅

❗️ IMPORTANT: Upcoming January Deprecations

Hey everyone!

With the slew of updates we had in 2023, we are planning to deprecate some of the older functionality early next year: legacy paywalls, A/B tests and remote configs. Even though we've already sent an email about it to some of you, we decided that we can't go wrong with an extra heads-up.

In short: after January 29th, 2024 the "Paywalls (deprecated)", "A/B tests (deprecated)" and "Legacy remote config (deprecated)" of the paywalls will be removed from the Adapty dashboard. If you are still using those sections — please read on for more details on what to expect and how to prepare.

Deprecating Paywalls and A/B tests that have not migrated to Placements

As you may already know, we have introduced the new paywall management system called Paywalls 2.0 this summer. It allows you to be more flexible when configuring your Paywalls and A/B tests and requires even less hardcoding on the app level with the help of Placements.

If you are still using the Paywalls (deprecated) and A/B tests (deprecated) sections of Adapty, then here's what you should know:
- On January 29th, 2024 we will auto-convert any legacy active Paywalls and A/B tests to Placements and activate them. Even though your app will continue to work as expected, this could lead to a lot of old unneeded stuff ending up in your Placements section.
- We kindly ask you to follow this short guide and complete the transfer yourself before that. In most cases, it will only require 10 minutes of your time and zero development. If you decide to archive certain active Paywalls and A/B tests — make sure they are not used anymore.
- We will also remove these sections from the interface, so the data for inactive Paywalls and A/B tests will also become inaccessible. If it's valuable to you — make sure to save this data for future use.

Deprecating legacy remote configs

In January 2023 we introduced new localized remote configs for paywalls — so that you could have smaller, easier-to-manage JSONs for each of the locales you support. The same month we released an updated SDK v2.3.0 that only supports these new configs. So, a full year later, on January 29th, 2024 we will deprecate legacy remote configs like so:
- In every paywall that still has a legacy remote config, it will be removed from the dashboard
- Despite that, this config will still be delivered and used by the apps with the old Adapty SDKs — although no modifications to it will be accepted.

We kindly ask you to transition to the new remote config before that, if you haven't already done so.

We know deprecations are rarely easy, so if you have any questions, please reach out to us.

Best,

Adapty Team

🍁 Fall Updates: Paywall Builder v2.0 and more

Hey everyone!

Our product has seen a lot of updates this fall so we wanted to highlight some of the most exciting ones to you. You know, just to make sure you're in the loop 😉

So today we're proud to tell you about...

Paywall Builder v2.0!

Just to remind you — this tool lets you create beautiful native paywalls right from the dashboard with no coding involved. v2.0 is a huge leap forward compared to the first version in terms of customization: you can now choose from a variety of templates and change the visuals of a paywall down to the color and shape of a specific button.

It's also now available to every one of our clients on every platform and SDK we support — as we would love to see this become a useful tool for everyone. We really hope it will boost your experimentation and bring your apps to new heights.

Check out our September and October product updates to learn more about the Builder, and start using it with the help of our docs. And don't forget to let us know what you think about it, as we're committed to polishing the Paywall Builder even more.

Have a wonderful rest of your fall and stay tuned for future updates!

Best,

Adapty Team

Google Play Billing 5 and 6 support

Hey everyone!

The fall is full of exciting updates, and some of the biggest ones are yet to come 🤩

In this feast of the new features, we somehow forgot to announce here the full support for Google Play Billing 5 and 6, which we did in August. On November 1st, Google stopped processing updates of the app that use older versions of the Billing Library.

Be sure to update to the latest version of Android or cross-platform SDKs, if you're currently using an Adapty SDK version older than 2.6.

We've prepared the docs that make the upgrade process a breeze:

  1. What's new in Adapty SDK 2.6 (2.6 is no longer the latest version, but still read this doc, even if you're updating to 2.8).
  2. How to work with Google Play subscriptions and base plans.
  3. How to work with Google Play offers.

Best,

Adapty Team

Taxes in Integrations and Placements

Hey there!

We're happy to announce that we now support App Store and Google Play taxes in Integrations. This will be useful for those of you who would like to see net proceeds (revenue adjusted for both store commission fee and taxes) in external services, be it those you use for analytics or attribution.

We also added support for net proceeds in Placements: so you can always see exactly how much you're earning across the entire Adapty toolset.

Check out our docs for more info on how we calculate and apply the taxes and stay tuned for more updates!
